Dave Whitman lives on the family farm in Paradise, Annapolis County with his wife, Paulette. He is a retired teacher, having taught in Halifax, Lawrencetown and Bridgetown. He graduated from Acadia University in 1970.

He and Paulette have two daughters, Lori and Cathy. Both are teachers and share his love of family traditions and the Annapolis Valley.
